Project: Promoting women’s economic empowerment in the energy sector in Central Asia

Donor: Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)

Position: Energy and Gender Expert

Years: 2026

Location: Central Asia

Sector: Energy transition, women's empowerment 

Activities: Providing advice and technical support on integrating gender considerations into clean energy access initiatives and renewable energy education activities, including through (1) a pilot project integrating solar PV systems in a women-led school located in a mountainous region in Kyrgyzstan; (2) mainstreaming gender in the OSCE work with universities across Central Asia to update curricula and align them with the needs of the energy transition; (3) training TVETs, universities and energy companies in the region for strengthening inclusive approaches and women’s participation in the energy sector.

Project: Accelerating Battery Energy Storage System Development in the Asia and Pacific Region 

Donor: Asian Development Bank (ADB)

Location: Cambodia, Mongolia and Viet Nam

Sector: Energy transition, renewable energy 

Activities: Conducting the gender assessment and encouraging women’s engagement through: (i) creating focus working groups among women during public consultations; (ii) collaborating with local women’s organizations, CSOs and NGOs; (iii) cooperating with local educational institutions to find talents among local women; and (iv) other measures to engage women as per country contexts.​​

Donor: International Finance Corporation (IFC)

Location: Bangladesh 

Sectors: Climate change, energy transition   

Activities: Leading the production of the International Finance Corporation-funded study “Gender-Smart Climate Diagnostic” in Bangladesh, assessing status of and opportunities for gender equality, women’s empowerment and women’s entrepreneurship in private sector-led climate action in four green sectors, to drive innovation and inclusive growth.
